'Violence' Register Flags Homes to Warn Paramedics

Across the West Midlands 700 homes are 'flagged' as violent or caution to warn paramedics that there is a risk of violence or aggression when visiting the premises.

In some cases paramedics are advised not to attend addresses without a police escort for fear of facing physical attacks.

West Midlands Ambulance Service explained that police assistance is only required in exceptional circumstances and some properties are listed on the ‘caution’ list for clinical reasons and not because they pose a risk of abuse or assault.

Of the 700 homes 120 are flagged as 'violent' with the remaining 580 having a 'caution' flag.
