Ashfield YOI Inmates Suffered Broken Bones

The BBC covers the situation at the, soon to be closed, Ashfield YOI near Bristol.

It reports that inspectors found youth offenders were "exposed to unacceptable levels of violence" and revealed two inmates suffered broken bones in separate incidents through excessive force by staff.

Chief inspector of prisons Nick Hardwicke said: "At Ashfield, young people's safety was compromised because they were exposed to unacceptable levels of violence."
