Man charged for physical assault on goal keeper

BBC News reports on the high profile workplace violence incident that occurred during a Championship football match between Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with assault and entering the field of play after Sheffield Wednesday's goalkeeper, Chris Kirkland, was attacked and required treatment after being struck in the face.

Aaron Cawley, of Blenheim, Cheltenham, ran on to the pitch after Leeds had equalised in the game on Friday and is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court on Monday.
