London Council Looks into Cameras for Lollipop Officers to Stem Abuse

Drive through incidents and verbal abuse of lollipop officers across the Borough has prompted Sutton Council to consider issuing school crossing patrol staff with body cameras.

Following the lead of Lincoln and Worcestershire County Councils, Sutton is responding to staff who have reported 80 drive through incidents in Hackbridge in one month, where motorists ignore the crossing patrol, and who believe verbal abuse is on the increase.
