Community Nurses Feel Vulnerable To Attack at Work

More than half of community nurses who took part in a recent RCN survey feel vulnerable at work.

Of the 1,324 community nurses who responded to the survey, 63% reported abuse over the past two years.

The RCN calls for the vulnerable community nurse workforce to be recognised, as they say nurses are ‘alone, afraid and under attack’.

Safety devices and training are considered key in keeping nurses safe by NHS Protect, an organisation that aims to keep NHS staff and patients safe by supporting and delivering services to NHS organisations.
