CItySafe 'safe havens' scheme expands across the Capital

BBC news reports on the expansion of the UK Citizens CitySafe scheme, set up in 2008 with local retailers to offer a safe haven to youngsters who feel threatened or are being chased.

Up to 300 businesses in18 London boroughs have signed up to CitySafe and shopkeepers will give refuge to youngsters and work with them and the police to report every incident.

The project reflects the ancient Greek tradition of providing safe haven for revellers 50 days either side of the Olympics, and London 2012 has signed up to the pledge.

Maybo supported UK Citizens in creating a Leaders Resource Guide for members of the scheme.
