Attacks on Ambulance Staff Prompt Police Assistance

A BBC report reveals that more than 200 London addresses are on a list of homes paramedicas will not visit without police assistance.

Homes where a police call out for physical violence, threats with a weapon or "aggravated verbal abuse" has taken place are on the list and householders have received a warning letter.

London Ambulance Service said its paramedics were told to only delay treatment if they believed they were in danger. But it also said paramedics were told they must not simply sit outside awaiting the arrival of police unless they believed they were at risk.
