Physical intervention for security…
The Home Office plans to raise standards by introducing additional training for door supervisors. Additional training will include physical intervention, first aid, special considerations when dealing with young people and awareness of the threat of terrorism.
The consultation document proposes making the additional skills a requirement for existing door supervisors in the form of top-up training that must be taken before renewing their licence. Comments must be in by March 29th 2010. Go to Maybo news for the consultation document and form to return to the Home Office.
Restraint for teachers…
A survey shows that two-thirds of newly qualified teachers have received no clear guidance on restraining violent pupils. Maybo’s SAFERchildren programme gives teachers this knowledge and more.
